Ilkley Lit Fest success
“We did it”! Author Mary Thomson and daughter actress Cathy Sara felt very happy after their two woman show at the Ilkley Literature Festival, “A Kindness of Women” on October 11th. The audience was very receptive and visibly moved at times as the themes of motherhood, women’s work, fear of loss, death and aging unfolded through the poet’s words and those of other writers working on the same themes. Copies of the books sold well – even the excellent techie Dave bought one! Now the two are hoping to reprise the presentation (all that work for only one performance would seem a waste) at other venues.
